Welcome to the disclaimer! That's right ladies and gentlemen, dogs and cats (though this really isn't about the cat), and anyone else reading this, this is the disclaimer! This is that American pie institution where I get to tell you that I am a) not a professional chef, just a guy with a hobby and I wanted to share b) I am not a dietitian c) I am not a veterinarian d) I am not a an animal nutritionist - yes they have those now, or so I am told, e) I am dyslexic it's up to you to deal with the misspellings and crazy measurements, and finally f) use these recipes at your own risk.
This is not a site for finding recipes to make for your dog (though I hope to add those at some point)! It's a site for human food, for humans, and the story of how one of our dogs absolutely loved watching it unfold! SO, should you follow along with these recipe? Sure, have fun. Knock yourself out. Get fat like me. Take drugs! Kill a bear (I do not actually advocate taking drugs or killing bears, it's a FNV joke, either you get it or you should ignore it)! Be warned though, I've tried to make them as accurate as possible, but don't blame me if it's over salted, cooked to done, or anything else that cost you an expensive ingredient. Should you feed everything you make to your dog? Absolutely not! Human food is not dog food. Sure they can have a little bit of some of the dishes, but most contain things like onion, garlic, and grape-containing ingredients that are very bad for your dog and can even be fatal. I've tried to designate in each recipe, and denote with each ingredient, if there is a danger and whether to use caution, don't feed it to your dog, or if it's safe but remember a), b), c), and d)? Yeah, I might have missed something, or gotten it just plain wrong. The same goes for proper food handling practices. Use common sense and protect yourself from food born illnesses.
So, protect your family and your pets. This site contains foods that are dangerous to your dogs (and how to prepare them), it contains recipes for expensive ingredients (that you might screw up sometimes), and we cook with ingredients that might make you sick if you aren't careful (I'm looking at you chicken). So, if it sounds dangerous (or just not worth it) don't try it at home or at all (though, where else are you going to try). And if it goes sideways, don't necessarily let the dog eat it (despite what the main page says).
And, with much ado, the actual disclaimer:
